Sedum spectabile 'Autumn Joy'Synonym(s): Sedum (Herbstfreude Group) 'Herbstfreude', Hylotelephium (Herbstfreude Group) 'Herbstfreude' Common Name: 'Stonecrop'
AGM. This well-known, clump-forming perennial is still hard to beat. It produces large, flat heads of salmon-pink flowers, which age deeper pink, usefully late in the season. A robust clump of succulent, grey-green leaves provides interest long before the flowers come. Aug-Sep. H60cm S60cm.

Easy to grow in any average garden soil in full sun. Drought tolerant and particularly good in poor thin soils. Excellent for butterflies and bees. Leave cutting back until February or March as the dried flowerheads provide valuable structure and colour in the winter garden.
