A robust clump-forming perennial which has spikes of pale pink flowers borne above huge leaves, with rough, crinkled surfaces. The young leaves emerge a deep bronze in spring and fade to green as they open. Jun-Jul. H100cm S90cm.

Best grown in humus-rich soil in full sun or partial shade, sheltered from cold, drying winds. It can tolerate drier conditions with more shade.
