Penstemon heterophyllus 'Heavenly Blue'

Common Name: 'Beard tongue'

A low-growing evergreen perennial suitable for the front of the border, with tubular, rich blue flowers that are borne in profusion over a long period on lance-shaped leaves. Jun-Oct. H45cm S45cm.

Care Instructions

Penstemons prefer a fertile soil in a warm, sunny or lightly shaded spot. Removing faded flower stems regularly will prolong the flowering period. They should be cut back in late spring. Loved by bees. Combine it with Anthemis punctata ssp. cupaniana and Cistus florentinus to good effect.
