Melianthus major

Common Name: 'Honey bush'

AGM. A wonderfully ornamental foliage plant with glaucous-blue, pinnate leaves. Small, tubular maroon flowers in erect racemes to 30cm in length, May-Jul. H90cm S75cm.

Care Instructions

Grow in a fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun. It is tender and will require winter protection but will re-grow if cut back to the ground. It doesn't always flowers with us and can be quite late in to leaf in spring. It has an architectural, sub-tropical look and looks great in a large pot.
